  Levi Thomas ( -1796) Will & estate Mabel Dodele, "A Trace of Thomas (1984)," p. 246. "Mason County was formed from Bourbon County in 1789; Bourbon had been formed from Fayette County in 1786. Early records of Fayette Co were destroyed by fire in 1803. There is no record of a purchase by Levi in Mason or Bourbon counties, so we could assume that Levi purchased land before 1786. Since he would have to be 21 to make the purchase, he was probably born before 1765. No record of a sale by Phineas has been found. 1790 Mason county Tax List shows James, but not Levi; 1793 Tax list shows Levi, but not James. Could this person have been Levi James or James Levi? 1793 tax list shows that Levi owned 50 A. of land. 25 April 1793: Levi made will, which establishes that he was a brother of Ephraim & Phineas. 24 May 1796: Will was probated."
