"BURLINGTON - Alice L. Kobs, 66, passed away at Memorial Hospital Burlington on Tuesday, October 21, 1997.
She was born in Chicago, Ill. on July 8, 1931, to Lester D. and Alma D. (nee: Schmidt) Hafemeister. She spent her early life in Evanston, Ill. and Wauwatosa. Following marriage, she resided in Blanchardville and Mayville and had been a resident of Burlington since 1961. On January 31, 1953, she was united in marriage to Herbert H. Kobs, who preceded her in death on July 18, 1981.
Mrs. Kobs received her education at Wauwatosa High School, Northwestern University, and earned a B.S. in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a Homemaker and a Librarian at the Burlington Public Library. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Burlington, the Burlington Women's Club, Burlington Lioness Club, Honey Creek Civic Club, and Kappa-Delta Sorority. She was an avid bridge player, loved to travel, and a faithful follower of the Wisconsin Badgers.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Marta (Mark) Cruciani of Franklin and Cathy Kobs of Milwaukee; two twin grandchildren, Cailin and Jena Cruciani; one brother, David (Gina) Hafemeister of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; five sisters-in-law, Kay Richardson, Hannah Sanderson, Dorothy Kobs, Sally Clausen, and Carol Byczek; special uncle, Walter `Bruder' Schmidt of Kent, Wash.
