"Charlie Thomas Dies in Vale; Circuit Court Bailiff Succumbs to Long Illness
Charlie Thomas, the first white child born in Seattle, died here Saturday night after a long illness. He was 77 years old and was born in Seattle in 1857.
He came to Vale a quarter of a century ago. For a number of years he drove a stage line to Brogan and in recent years was bailiff of the circuit court. He is survived by his widow and a brother in Spokane."
