Herbert Whippert Coulter, 75, of Stockton died Saturday, May 10, 2003. He was born May 26, 1927, in Starkville, Colorado. Coulter lived in New Mexico before moving to California in 1959. He lived in Stockton for 40 years. Coulter retired from the San Joaquin County Department of Social Services in 1987. He was Director of Intake. Before that, he worked as an agricultural teacher. Coulter served in the Marines during World War II.
Survivors: wife, Joan Coulter of Stockton; children, James Coulter of Houston, Cheri Coulter-Black of Pacifica, Mark Coulter of Mount Shasta, John Coulter of Stockton and Matthew Coulter of Sacramento; brother, Ralph Coulter of Cimarron, N.M.; and five grandchildren."
