AThe only source listed on that page is "Ancestral File".
Per her LDS Church Membership Record the lady's birth name was NOT "Arlytia
Lydia Carter" - it was "Arlytia Long Carter". All the other information on that
page is that for Arlytia Long Carter.
Confusion between Arlytia's name and the name of her younger sister, Lydia Ann
Carter (born in 1838) rages rampant in genealogical databases and histories,
probably for this reason:
Arlytia Long Carter (born in 1829) married Martin Horton Peck on 20 Jan 1846 at
Nauvoo, Hancock county, Illinois. AT THE SAME TIME AND AT THE SAME PLACE her
sister, Lydia Ann Carter, married Edwin Martin Peck (born in 1828). EDWIN was
the son of MARTIN HORTON PECK from a previous marriage (Susan Caroline Clough).
So, father-and-son married sisters.
Please make the appropriate changes to her name on the peckfam.org website so
that this error is not promulgated further by those who may seek out that
website.
