- Find-A-Grave: "Lois Eva McLain, 74, of 349 Boston Road, Taylorsville, died Thursday evening in Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville. She had been in declining health four years and seriously ill one week. Born in Alexander County on May 25, 1904, she was a daughter of L. Bim Deal and Mary Marlowe Deal. Her husband, Walter G. McLain, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be conducted at Rocky Springs United Methodist Church in Alexander County, where she was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are a son, George McLain of Rt. 1, Hiddenite; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Bowman, Mrs. Virginia Stafford, Mrs. Garnet Smith, Mrs. Hilda Bowman, and Mrs. Sue Cooke, all of Alexander County; two brothers, Paul Deal of Kannapolis and Donald Deal of Mazulla, Mont.; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Parker of Andrews and Mrs. Fay Johnson of Rowan County; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren."
