Notes |
- The vital statistics of Rezekne for 1865 to 1892 have the following entry: 9 Sep 1891 was concluded the marriage between the widower Zalman-Ber son of Genech-Hirsh Gurevitch (26) and girl from Dunabourg/Daugavpils, Rochel Lea, daughter of Leiba Itsik Shust (22 years old). I wonder if any of his children were with the first wife? DH
- There is a Horwitz family in the 1920 Federal Census of Chicago on Edgamark (sp) Street Showing the father as Barnett Horwitz a sheet metal worker, born in Russia, age 55 (1865) with a wife Rose born in Russia age 49 (1871) and their children: Sam born in Russia age 23 (1897), Sophy born in Russia age 20 (1900), Emma born in Russia age 18, and Louis born in Russia age 17 (1903). Barnett and Sam came to America in 1909 and the rest came in 1911.
