Notes	In the 1870 Census for Washington Township, Putnam County, Indiana there is a family with the father Isaac Deal age 32, occupation RR Hand; mother is Jane age 34 and two children Daniel age 8 and Mary age 4. This would indicate that Mary was born about 1866. In the 1880 Census for Springfield Township, LaGrange County, Indian there is a family with the father Elisha Deal age 50, a farmer; the mother is Catherine age 43 and one child, a daughter Mary E age 16. This would indicate that Mary E was born about 1864. This record was found by our relative Karen Mills of Indianapolis. I found it on Ancestry.com. Springfield, LaGrange County, Indiana is almost at the northern border of the State of Indiana and east of South Bend. It is about 255 miles from Putnam County. I believe that the Mary E of LaGrange is not our Mary. I believe the correct family is the Isaac Deal family of Putnam County were all our other relatives came from. Dave Howard, 8 Nov 2011
