Known to have lived in Bledsoe County in 1830 (census). His wife, Polly Vernon, was his first cousin. They were married six months after the birth of their son, William Harrison Vernon, Jr. They moved from Charlotte County, Virginia to Bledsoe County, Tennessee along with the parents of both Polly and William in 1816. The census of 1830 indicates that he had a male of age 15 in his household in Tennessee. This would match with his son, W. H. Vernon.
