"Mahala R. Yount was a daughter of Jonathan and Elizabe
(Redman) Yount; she raised thirteen children. Jonathan
Yount served in the battles of Piqua Plains and Fort
Defiance, then in the territory of Ohio. He was born in
1785, and died in 1862. His father, George Yount, was born
in Delaware, served in the Revolutionary Army, and was
captured and paroled by the British; came to Kentucky, joined General William Henry Harrison's forces, and fought
in the war with the Indians. His son, Jonathan, was born in fort, at Lynch's Station, now Shelbyville, KY."
